RJ-625N RHEOLOGY MODIFIER
PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
RJ-625N is a nonionic hydrophobically modified ethylene oxide urethane (HEUR) rheology modifier designed for water-borne architectural and functional coatings. RJ-625N is compatible with acrylic, styrene-acrylic and vinyl-acrylic latexes, and can be used in interior and exterior paints, and provides alkyd-like flow and leveling, film formation, water resistance, excellent spatter, high gloss development and high mid-shear range(KU viscosity) thickening efficiency. RJ-625N is a product of APEO, VOC and Organo Tin free.

INCORPORATION AND DOSAGE
RJ-625N can be used as supplied or, if required, diluted. Addition can take place at any time during the manufacturing process. Addition before letdown of the mill-base is strongly recommended. RJ-625N additives can be used together with other rheological additives such as RJ-605, cellulosic or acrylic thickeners.
Typical use levels can vary from 0.2 to 3.0% of paint, depending on the system being thickened and the rheological performance desired. The rheological properties of associative thickeners are developed by interaction with the other ingredients in a given system. The thickening efficiency of RJ-625N may be influenced by solvents, binders or surfactants. The performance of RJ-625N in a small-particle-size latex system is greatly enhanced by increasing the available surface area of the pigments and extenders. Modification of the system’s surfactant blend may be beneficial.
